I know everyone misses, but, is there anything I can do on my end to reduce the ungodly amount of misses I am getting? I mean for instance, I had a run of 12 misses, a 1xp fish, another 5 misses, a 1 xp fish, and 5 more misses. All this at the very beginning of a contest. Needless to say even though I hung in there, it never got any better. I wound up 19th place after fighting to get that far. I go into the contest with huds off, like my dance hud. I do not play the music if it is there (stream). I even have taken my ao off at one point to see if it got any better, it didn't. So, does it really come down to computers? I know mine is not the best, but it isn't the worst either. I have searched around for a less laggy place to stand to have someone invade my space, lol, as it were. I know I am not alone, but when I see the same names constantly on the boards I have to wonder. Suggestions?

Thats really a lot of misses for the first 24 casts... and not normal!
My idea for you: wear a statistic hud during your fishing all the time, you can buy one or even catch one as custom prize....
Check your statistics over a long time period (days), not over 5 or 10 minutes. If there is a big difference then between your results and what 7seas says on the stat sppoiler page (http://www.7seasfishing.com/stats.html) then its time to be angry... on the rod god, the stat god or maybe a random god.
All other is just luck and a random number.

I'll try my padd I caught 3 weeks ago and see how it compares. I agree this ratio isnt right at all. Thing is, I can get ultra's and SUR's until the contests begin, then the misses begin? So will see what my Padd says, will report what it says. Thanks

ok, here is the tally from contest that just finished
casts=92, catchs=59, misses=34
common=14, uncommon=25, rare=11, ultrarare=9, SUR=0
highest catch streak=8
highest miss streak=5
only toward end did I start the catches
at beginning, I got the 5 misses
so you tell me if this is normal, cuz I don't think it is, this is my normal fishing day

first of all: this is a result from a 45 minutes contest i guess ?
within 45 minutes all is possible, a bad result, a good result and an average result.
in the end you have an average result. during 45 minutes you could have around 96 casts (every 28 seconds a new cast).
catchrate for level 5 and higher is 65%. so for your 92 casts it is in avarage 59,8.... you have 59.
from these 59 catches 25% could be Common, that would be 14,75, you have 14.
from these 59 catches 45% could be UnCommon, that would be 26,55, you have 25.
from these 59 catches 19% could be Rare, that would be 11,21, you have 11.
from these 59 catches 9% could be ultrarare, that would be 5,31, you have 9!!!
from these 59 catches 2% could be superultrarare, that would be 1,18, you have 0.....

So average result for 59 catches is 128,61 pts, you have 133 pts....

But as i said: you should do this over days not minutes. I am sure there was a few fishers with more pts and a few with less.... thats statistics.
Your contest and time will come. And dont forget: what you see on the contestboard is the TOP5, so normally those scores are always over average.
Ask the boardowner to tell you the complete results after the contest, every owner can set his board to get complete results after contest and copy/paste them into chat.
